Sudoc selected by Scrum Ventures to participate in their SmartCityX Open Innovation Program

Sudoc has been selected by Scrum Studio, a global platform established by the venture investment group Scrum Ventures, to participate in the SmartCityX open innovation program that connects innovative start-ups to the Japanese marketplace.

Sudoc was recently named a Top Ten Start-Up to Watch by Chemical & Engineering News because our sustainable and powerful chemistry can change how we use chemicals in a wide range of applications and reduce our planet’s chemical burden. Sudoc is a different kind of chemical company with a mission to outperform toxic chemicals to remove them from our planet. Sudoc’s patented NewTAML® molecule can supercharge oxidation reactions to replace and eliminate toxic chemicals in a wide range of cleaning and environmental treatment applications.

A Founder and CEO of Sudoc, Roger Berry, states: “We are honored to be recognized by the experts at Scrum Studio to participate in the SmartCityX program. We believe that the efficiency and efficacy of our chemistry will be a great match for the needs of Japan. Our Dot brand of cleaning products come in smaller product forms, with less packaging, better shelf-life and more impact. We are also developing our Neat brand of wastewater treatment products that can greatly improve existing water treatment processes and increase the efficiency of water usage. Given that Japan is an island economy that relies on the efficient use of resources, Sudoc believes our Dot and Neat brands can have a dramatic impact.”

Continuing the momentum from last year's inaugural program, SmartCityX is for startups looking to transform the way we live, learn, and work - particularly in the fields of Consumer Products and Services, Mobility, Smart Buildings, and Connectivity. In addition, recognizing the critical role technology plays in helping cities reach net zero emissions by 2050, this year's program seeks cutting-edge innovations in the areas of Sustainability and Climate Change. The United Nations estimates that 68% of the world's population will live in urban areas by 2050, putting increasing pressure on cities, which already consume over two-thirds of the world's energy and account for more than 70% of global carbon emissions every year, according to UN-Habitat.

Michael Proman, Managing Director of Scrum Studio, commented, "Now more than ever, it's critical to foster and embrace new technologies and ideas that help cities manage the multiple issues affecting how people live and work. We are proud to have Sudoc join the SmartCityX program and excited to see how the company’s sustainable chemistry could be a game-changer for the Japanese market. There are too many chemicals in the world today, and a sustainable future means changing the ways we use chemicals in a range of applications. We applaud Sudoc’s efforts to make chemistry more efficient and reduce the chemical burden on our planet’s many cities.”
